NAME

myownmail-privacy — what this mail system collects, why, and what you can do about it.

# tldr

We collect an email for the waitlist, and an address + password for an active account. That's close to all of it.
No ad trackers, no analytics pixels, no selling or sharing data — nothing here to opt out of, because it doesn't run.
Mail between members is end-to-end encrypted; we can't read it even if asked.
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it, wherever you live.

SYNOPSIS

myownmail collects the minimum needed to run an invite-only inbox. No flag enables ad tracking, because none exists.

DESCRIPTION

Data collected, by trigger:

No precise location, no biometrics, no browsing activity off this site. No ad trackers or third-party analytics run here.

OPTIONS

Rights available, by jurisdiction flag:

gdpr — European Union & United Kingdom

Access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data; object to processing; withdraw consent; lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

ccpa — California

Know what we collect, request deletion or correction, opt out of sale/sharing (already true by default), designate an authorized agent, no discrimination for exercising any of this.

us-state — Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah & similar

Access, correct, delete, and port your data; opt out of targeted ads, sale, and profiling — none of which run here anyway. Appeal a denied request via CONTACT below.

pipeda — Canada

Access the personal information we hold about you and request correction of inaccuracies.

lgpd — Brazil

Confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, portability, deletion, and disclosure of third parties data was shared with.

In practice: every request is handled the same way regardless of which flag technically applies. Response within 30 days.

FILES

waitlist — retained until invited, or 24 months of inactivity, then deleted.
account — retained while active, plus 30 days after deletion in case it was accidental.
security_log — retained up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymized.

ENVIRONMENT

This page sets no cookies. One variable is kept client-side, in your browser's localStorage, and never sent to us:

MYOWNMAIL_LANG — your selected display language, so it persists on your next visit to this device.

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts at render time, which may log your IP address per Google's own privacy policy — the same as any page linking an external font or image host.

SECURITY

Mail between members is end-to-end encrypted by default — we hold no keys and can't read content, including on request from anyone but you. Data at rest is encrypted, production access is minimal, and passwords are salted hashes, never plaintext.

CHILDREN

Not directed at children. No knowing collection from anyone under 16. If found, deleted. Contact below if you believe otherwise.
